This year launches in March 2026 and unfurls a year long celebration of storytelling, history, innovation, and imagination as the Centennial of Route 66 and the 250 Birthday year launches.
Author-storyteller Marilyn A. Hudson, Stroud, Oklahoma, will serve as artist-in-residence for the Stroud Public Library and provide programs throughout the calendar for children and families. A target audience is extending experiences for families traveling the famed highway but area children, youth, and families are included. Stroud Public Library is the first - and perhaps only - library receiving grant funding to address the Route 66 Centennial.
